Alexandria Port receives new Russian vehicle for trial operation
Alexandria Port received a model of the new Russian vehicle as part of a contract signed between the Egyptian government and the Russian-Hungarian alliance led by the Russian Transmashholding Company to manufacture and supply 1,300 vehicles.
The vehicles came from Russia after Egypt’s Railway Authority met all the conditions and demands set by Akzim Bank, the financer this deal that provided a soft loan of €10.016 billion.
The Ministry of Transport is preparing a big celebration upon the arrival of the vehicles, and it is expected that the Egyptian Railways Authority will begin testing the model vehicles on the railways next week for a period of 45 days to ensure that they conform with the specifications.
The sources added that the first batch of the vehicles includes 30 new Russian vehicles expected to arrive in June.
