The Prime Minister of Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, signed an order to expand the port of Zarubino in Primorskiy region for construction of a grain-handling terminal. As noted in the order, "to expand Zarubino port (Primorskiy region) by including in its borders land plots located in Khasanskiy region and artificially created land intended for a grain terminal construction with a capacity of 33.5 MMT per year in perspective until 2030".
The terminal, supposed to accept vessels with a carrying capacity of up to 91.3 KMT, will be used for wheat, corn and soybean handling. The terminal will include five berths, a warehouse, railway and road fronts, as well as conveyors. The first phase of construction with a capacity of 3 MMT is planned to be completed in 2020, informs UkrAgroConsult.
The project is implemented at the expense of UGC and its subsidiary structure - Far Eastern Grain Terminal LLC.
