United Arab Shipping Agencies Company posts KD 1 mln profit in ’07
The United Arab Shipping Agencies Company (UASAC), an affiliate of the United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) announced it secured KD one million in net annual profits in 2007. The figure represents 202 percent of the paid capital of the company, UASAC Director General Walid Al-Abd Al-Qader said in a press release here following the annual General Assembly meeting. The meeting probed a report compiled by the company’s board of directors on the activities of last year and an audit report. UASAC Board Chairman Hajjaj Bukhadour attended the meeting, he pointed out. The company handed 40,000 oil containers in 2007 which reflects a 2.3 percent increase in contrast to the previous year figure, Al-Abd Al-Qader noted. It exported 15,764 containers or 37.3 percent more than the previous year, he added.
