Throughput of transport companies in Murmansk region down 7% to 37.3 mln t in 2008 In 2008, transport companies of the Murmansk region carried 37.3 million tonnes of cargo (-7%, year-on-year), press center of the regional Ministry of Economic Development reports according to IA REGNUM. According to the Ministry, the decrease should be attributed to a 9.2-pct fall in cargo transshipment by railway transport and to a 3.4-pct fall of maritime shipping. The volume of cargo transported by automobiles grew by 1.5% against 2007.
