Shipyard «Ukraine» finished January, 2009 with a positive financial result. Director of SE "OCSP" subdivision Sergey Charkin reported about it on February, 6 during the conference in the port management.
A shipyard was unprofitable till October, 2008. It is the heiress of Odessa ship repair factory, which has been on verge of bankruptcy before integration to the complement of port in 2007. The third month already its product earning defray expenses. It is the result of the done work on production rationalization and return from the capital investments of the port, which for 2 last years made ten million UAH. Considerable part of port facilities is invested in through repairs of dock №2 and renewal of under abnormal condition drowned dock №5 in 2005.
Now at the float craft supervision of defects is carrying out. Dock №5 is the largest one on the Black sea - is planned to put into operation in the 4th quarter 2009.
