India’s Shipping and Transport Minister T R Baalu has denied reports that the Indian government was considering privatising Cochin Shipyard in South India. “There is no proposal like that,'' Baalu said in a meeting at the upper house of the Parliament of India (the Rajya Sabha).
He was responding to concerns raised by another minister regarding resentment among workers if the move to disinvest the shipyard  went ahead. "You are totally misinformed,'' Baalu told the member.
