Brazil’s newest terminal will share cost of road link
Portonave, which will open Brazil’s newest container terminal next August with 500,000 teu capacity, is about to agree to share the costs of constructing a road linking the new port at Navegantes to the BR-470 highway, writes Rob Ward.
The total investment in Portonave is now expected to be around Reals423m and it is forecast that the two-berth facility will be able to handle around 250,000 teu annually during its first three years of operations.
In its fourth year, once Phase Two has been completed, it is expected to be able to handle around 500,000 teu.
