Dmitry Medvedev has approved the new statute of the Marine Board under RF Government. According to the materials of RF Government, the decree No 723 was signed on August 21, 2013.
According to the decisions of RF President made at the meeting on development prospects of the United Shipbuilding Corporation on May 21, 2013, RF Government should ensure maximum loading of domestic shipyards with the orders of Russia’s largest companies.
Marine Board of RF Government is to coordinate activities on civil shipbuilding. Therefore it should have additional functions, updated structure and principles.
As it was reported earlier, at the meeting of June 13, 2013, Dmitry Medvedev backed the proposals of Dmitri Rogozin, Head of the Marine Board, on improvement of its activities.
The Board now has an additional function of coordinating the activities of the federal and regional executive authorities as well as organizations in the sector of shipbuilding and marine facilities.
Major tasks of the Marine Board are to ensure safe navigation and shipping, development of systems for navigation&hydrographic and search&rescue support as well as preservation of marine cultural heritage.
The statute sets forth the establishment of the Marine Board Presidium for prompt consideration of issues related to implementation of state programmes and federal special-purpose programmes in the sphere of shipbuilding. The presidium will consist of the Board members – representatives of the federal executive authorities in charge of the implementation of state programmes and federal special-purpose programmes in the sphere of marine activities as well as representatives of shipbuilding customers and manufacturers.
