Sevmash launches A1331-series mega-yacht (photo)
Severodvinsk-based Sevmash Shipyard on September 4, 2013 launched the ocean-going mega yacht of project A1331. The launching ceremony was attended by representatives of the customer – Baltika Company, the series designer – AgatDizaynByuro and several contractors, the shipbuilding company said in a press release.
This class vessel construction became a good experience for the shipbuilder.
To execute the project the Sevmash specialists had to revive the aluminum production and establish international partnership with German, Dutch and Polish companies.
Representatives of the customer regularly inspected the vessel construction.
"This project was conceived as a breakthrough in shipbuilding, as a step in the development of new technologies,” a customer representative Ivan Vasiliev said adding that Sevmash has coped with the task.
Dock-side and builder’s trials will be carried out during the month with participation of a commission of Sevmash and of more than a dozen of foreign companies. Then the mega-yacht will be handed over to the customer
General characteristics: length - 71 m, beam - 11 m, draft - 3.8 m, displacement – 1,200 tons, speed - 20 knots, passenger capacity - 12, crew - 14.
JSC PO Sevmash is a shipbuilding company based in Severodvinsk, a port city on Russia's White Sea. Sevmash is the largest shipbuilding enterprise in Russia and today the country's only nuclear submarine producer.
