RF Government’s stakes in Murmansk and Northern Shipping Companies to be sold on December 6, 2013

Auctions on sale of government’s stakes in Murmansk Shipping Company OJSC and Northern Shipping Company OJSC are to be held on December 6, 2013, says Rosimushchestvo (Federal Property Management Agency). The deadline for bidding is November 18, 2013; the participants are to be determined on November 21, 2013.

Shares put up for auction: 240,581 uncertificated nominal shares (state registration number: 1-01-00088-А) of Murmansk Shipping Company OJSC (25.5% of the Company’s authorized capital) with total nominal value of RUB 240,581 and 191,571 uncertificated nominal shares (state registration number: 24-1-П-97) of Northern Shipping Company OJSC (20% of the Company’s authorized capital).

Murmansk Shipping Company OJSC specializes in marine transportation of general cargo and passengers by the fleets of the Company itself and its subsidiaries as well as by chartered vessels. The fleet of the shipping holding numbers over 300 vessels with total deadweight of some 2 mln t. MSC is the largest shipping company which carries out the major part of shipments under the Russian flag in Russian sector of the Arctic. Major shareholders of MSC are Arctic technologies LLC (62.7%) and the state (25.5%). The size of the authorized capital is RUB 943,454. . Total number and types of shares issued: 943,454 uncertificated ordinary nominal shares (state registration number: 1-01-00088-А). Nominal value per one share is 1 ruble. As of June 18, 2013, the Company staff numbered 1,374 employees.

Northern Shipping Company (OJSC NSC, Arkhangelsk) is a Russian shipping company, one of the major in Northwest of Russia, providing carriage by sea all around the world, including Northern Sea Route.  NSC fleet consists of unitized dry cargo ships with DWT 2500-14000 tons which carry round all kinds of dry cargos including radioactive and dangerous goods. The fleet of the Company consists of 41 various purpose vessels: 23 vessels of shipping fleet, 10 vessels of dredging fleet, 8 vessels of technical fleet; 7 vessels are taken in commercial management. The size of the authorized capital is RUB 957,854. Total number and types of shares issued: 957,854 uncertificated nominal shares including 718,390 ordinary shares (state registration number: 24-1-П-97) and 239,464 preferred shares (state registration number: 24-1-П-97). Nominal value per one share is 1 ruble. As of June 27, 2013, the Company staff numbered 1,153 employees.
