Throughput of EVRAZ NCSP up 8% to some 7.45 mln t in 2013

In January-December 2013, EVRAZ Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port handled about 7.45 mln t of cargo (+8%, year-on-year), the company announced.

In December 2013, the company’s throughput surged by 26%, year-on-year, to 781,700 t.

Coal and metal were still major cargoes handled by the company in 2013 (3.61 mln t and 3.42 mln t respectively). 

The company notes that the share of coal transshipment has increased by almost 60% due to some project solutions applied throughout the year of 2013.

In 2013, EVRAZ NCSP also handled non-ferrous metal, timber, vanadium slag, coke, automobiles, containerized cargo and other cargoes.
    
EVRAZ Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port is a major stevedore company operating at the largest Russia’s Far Eastern Port of Nakhodka, located in the eastern Gulf of Peter the Great, in Nakhodka Bay. The port is linked to the Eurasian continent through the Trans-Siberian Railway, serving the Asia-Europe-Asia trade flows. The port is able to handle up to 450 rail cars a day. Warehousing facilities area is 300,000 m2.

JSC EVRAZ NCSP operates on 15 cargo berths and one facility for handling the port’s workboats, of total length of 3.5 km, which can accommodate ships with length of 230m, breadth of 32m and draft of 11 m. Currently, at least 15 ships are able dock at the port’s berths simultaneously and the port is able to handle more than 1,500 large vessels a year.
