Sukhodol LLC has held public hearings on environmental impact of the dedicated coal terminal to be built in Sukhodol Bay (Primorsk Territory). As IAA PortNews was informed by one of 170 participants, the terminal is supposed to handle up to 20 mln t of coal per year.
The registered participants included representatives of public organizations, public ecological council of the Primorsk Terminal Governor, Vladivostok and Bolshoi Kamen citizens. The hearings lasted for 3 hours.
The terminal is intended for coal exports to the Asia-Pacific region: Korea, India, China, Japan. The construction is to begin in July-September 2014. The first phase with the capacity of 6 mln t per year is to be put into operation in July 2017. The second and the third phases are to make the terminal fully operational in 2019-2021.
