The project of Dry Bulk Cargo Area in the port of Taman entered the list of major projects in the updated “Transport Strategy of Russia until 2030” approved by the Russian Government, the government's official website said.
According to the published document, the Taman Dry Bulk Port project includes the construction by the end of 2020 of facilities for handling iron ore and iron ore concentrate of capacity of up to 15 million tonnes and the construction of the Bulk Cargo Terminal.
Besides, the project involves construction between 2021 and 2030 of facilities for handling sulfur cargo (total capacity - 5 million tonnes), coal (28 million tonnes), fertilizers (18 million tonnes), steel (4.4 million tonnes), grain (13.4 million tonnes) and a container terminal of throughput capacity of 10 million tonnes.
