A fleet of 19 dredging vessels led by CSD “D'Artagnan” departed the port of Murmansk on July 27 and are en route to the port of Sabetta, the port project contractor SC MOST Group said Tuesday in a press release.

The dredging contract at Sabetta will be executed by a fleet of dredgers recruited by subcontractor LLC Mordraga from around the world. Among them: a cutter suction dredger, two split hopper barges, six trailing suction hopper dredgers, ten auxiliary vessels, including an accommodation vessel for the crews.

The vessels will be performing dredging for approximately 70 days.

Earlier reports said that USC MOST Group was chosen by Rosmorrechflot as a sole contractor of all works scheduled for the 2014-2019 period, the construction of major seaport facilities in Sabetta comprising northwestern Ice Protection Structures (IPS), southeastern IPS (deep part) and yards of Radio Automated Post of Vessel Traffic Management System No 1-3.

JSC USK MOST set up a special group named "Sabetta" that was tasked to implement the project.

JSC USK MOST is part of SK MOST Group comprising 15 companies and 7 bridge building tunnel units. The group is working on construction and reconstruction of railways and roads, large and small bridges, tunnels, ports and piers, waterworks, runways. Construction of a seaport near the village Sabetta is carried out within the framework of the project "Yamal LNG".

Yamal LNG project includes the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG). The plant will consist of three liquefaction trains with overall capacity of 16.5 million tonnes per annum based on the hydrocarbon resources of the South Tambeyskoye field with proven and probable gas reserves according to PRMS standard estimated at 802 bn cbm of gas and 31 m of gas condensate. Start of commissioning works at the first liquefaction train is scheduled for 2016 with the planned commercial launch of the first LNG train in 2017. The Project also requires the construction of transport infrastructure including a sea-port facility and an international airport located at Sabetta (north-east of the Yamal Peninsula).
