Nakhodka Ship Repair Yard launches tanker Sakhalin built for Rosneft (photo)
On August 8, Nakhodka Ship Repair Yard launched tanker Sakhalin built under the order of Rosneft, says press center of Primorsk Territory authorities.
“Sister tanker Primorje will be launched soon. An agreement has been signed for construction of the third tanker. I will address Rosneft management with a proposal to ink contracts for a series of tankers. The plant has demonstrated the ability to fulfill the most challenging tasks within a short period of time,” said Primorsk Territory Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky who attended the ceremony.
The tanker was laid down in 2012. Intended for operation in ice conditions, the vessel has an improved class of environmental safety and automation. She completely meets new international requirements to oil product transportation. The vessel is to be delivered to the customer in early 2015.
Vessel’s length – 88.9 m, beam – 13.45 m, depth – 7.9 m, draught – 5.41 m. Crew– 15, deadweight – 3,100 t, cruising range – 4,000 miles, speed – 13 knots. The tanker can simultaneously accept, carry and discharge up to 4 types of oil products.
It is a new experience for Far East shipbuilding.
The company management also eyes construction of vessels for Russia’s Defence Ministry and for fishing industry.
