Oil Company LUKOIL has developed a new grade of marine fuel for application in ecological zones subject to restrictions on negative emissions from seagoing vessels, says the press center of LUKOIL-BUNKER LLC.
This fuel will meet new requirements on sulfur content which come into effect from January 2015 (maximum 0.1%).
Ecological marine fuel is a heavy type of distillates combining the best characteristics of heavy fuel oil and distillate fuel. With its hybrid characteristics this fuel ranks between heavy fuel oil and distillate fuel. So far, there is no specific quality standard to describe for this fuel.
