Primorsk Territory Governor calls on banning of bunkering operations within water area of Khasan district

Primorsk Territory Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky considers it to be necessary to mull banning of bunkering operations within the water area of the Khasan district, press center of the regional government says. This measure is probably required amid repeated oil spills, the Governor says.

“We have had two oil spills in the Khasan district over several months. This suggests taking strong measures. I have already addressed RF Minister of Transport with a proposal to ban bunkering on the open sea. We are going to consider this ban in respect of the Khasan district’s water area. This area is a gem of the Primorsk Territory and it should be treated with care,” Vladimir Miklushevsky said.
