Murmansk Gov't mulls another SEZ site in Roslyakovo for Rosneft's Arctic offshore projects

The Government of the Murmansk region is considering allocation of the site in urban-type settlement Roslyakovo for establishing additional area for Special Economic Zone and industrial park to facilitate the infrastructure operation created for Arctic projects of Rosneft, the regional government press office reported citing the regional governor.

The Murmansk Region Gov. Marina Kovtun told the plenary session of the 4th international Arctic forum (The Arctic: Present and Future) that "the issue of creating on the territory of the Roslyakovo-based 82nd ship repair yard of additional area of SEZ and industrial park. The SEZ resident status will allow the company to significantly reduce the time and cost of customs procedures, and to raise funds for the construction of the infrastructure of the industrial park from the federal budget".

Earlier reports said that the ship repair dockyard in the future will be converted to shipbuilding yard that will build OSV and platforms for  the company's operation on the Arctic shelf.
