In January-December, 2014 Russian seaports (including the ports of Crimea) handled 6.234 mln t of cargo (+5.7%, year-on-year, says press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 292.4 mln t (+14.1%) including 116.3 mln t of coal (+15.1%), 46.8 mln t of containerized cargo (+5.3%), 29.7 mln t of grain (up 1.6 times), 23.3 mln t of ferrous metal (+5.9%), 14.7 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+13.7%), 11.1 mln t of cargoes carried by ferries (up 1.7 times), 4.8 mln t of timber (+9.6%) and 4.7 mln t of scrap metal (+27.9%). Transshipment of ore fell to 6.1 mln t (-18.0%), refrigerated cargo – to 3.6 mln t (-2.1%), non-ferrous metals – to 3.3 mln t (-12.5%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 331.0 mln t (-0.8%) including 187.2 mln t of crude (-9.8%), 128.0 mln t of oil products (+14.5%) and 12.2 mln t of liquefied gas (+10.2%).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 491.6 mln t (+6.7%, year-on-year), import - 43.4 mln t (-5.7%), transit - 47.6 mln t (+1.4%), coastal trade cargo – 40.8 mln t (+13.2%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 35.0 mln t of cargo (-24.2%, year-on-year) including 25.2 mln t of dry cargo (+2.6%) and 9.8 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (down 2.2 times). The port of Murmansk handled 21.9 mln t (-30.4%) including 16.1 mln t handled by Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC (-6.2%). The port of Arkhangelsk handled 4.2 mln t (-5.4%), Varandei - 5.9 mln t (+9.2%).
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 223.4 mln t (+3.4%) including 89.8 mln t of dry cargo (+9.3%) and 133.6 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-0.2%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 75.7 mln t (+20.3%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 61.1 mln t (+5.4%), Vysotsk - 17.4 mln t (+7.9%), Kaliningrad - 13.9 mln t (+1.6%), Vyborg - 1.7 mln t (+9.9%), Primorsk - 53.7 mln t (-15.9%).
Throughput of Azov - Black Sea ports climbed to 194.5 mln t (+11.2%, year-on-year) including 76.8 mln t of dry cargo (+21.9%) and 117.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+5.2%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 121.5 mln t (+8.0%), Tuapse - 22.1 mln t (+24.7%), Taman - 10.2 mln t (+7.3%), Kavkaz - 10.2 mln t (+28.6%), Azov - 6.3 mln t (+13.4%), Yeisk - 4.0 mln t (+3.9%), Temryuk - 2.0 mln t (+2.5%), Taganrog - 2.8 mln t (no changes), Kerch - 3.3 mln t, Sevastopol – 0.4 mln t, Rostov-on-Don - 10.4 mln t (-4.5%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 7.9 mln t of cargo (+0.8%) including 3.5 mln t of dry cargo (+14.2%) and 4.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-7.8%). The port of Astrakhan increased its throughput by 12.8%, Makhachkala and Olya – decreased by 3.9% and 15.1% accordingly.
The ports of Far East Basin handled 162.5 mln t (+12.3%) including 97.0 mln t of dry cargo (+16.3%) and 65.5 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+6.7%). Port Vostochny handled 57.8 mln t (+19.7%), Vanino - 26.2 mln t (+10.4%), Nakhodka - 20.7 mln t (+13.0%), Vladivostok - 15.3 mln t (+5.3%), De-Castri – 8.2 mln t (+16.6%), Posiet - 6.7 mln t (+18.8%), Prigorodnoye - 16.1 mln t (-1.1%).
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions.
