Criminal cases have been initiated in response to stealing of large sums during the construction of shipbuilding complex Zvezda in Primorsk Territory, TASS cites Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister and presidential Plenipotentiary of the Far East Federal District, as saying at the joint meeting of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry for the Development of Russian Far East.
According to him, over RUB 4 bln have been stolen in the course of construction of Shipbuilding Complex Zvezda which has a national importance.
Shipyard Zvezda laid down in 2009 is focused on offshore orders of Rosneft and Gazprom. Its launch is expected to improve phasing out of imports in the region and to generate new jobs. The production is to begin in the IV quarter of 2016.
Vladimir Tsybin, Acting Director General of Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center OJSC, earlier said that the construction of the first phase is valued at RUB 45 bln.
