RF Ministry of Industry and Trade expects new products manufactured by Zvezda to appear in late 2019

RF Ministry of Industry and Trade has fully fulfilled its obligations on following the Presidential Order dated 21.07.2014 (No 524) On Development of Shipbuilding in the Far East, IAA PortNews journalist cites Maxim Kochetkov, Director of Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Facilities Department at RF Ministry of Industry and Trade, as saying at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok. The mentioned order sets forth the creation of Shipbuilding Complex Zvezda in Bolshoi Kamen (Primorsky Territory). The project is controlled by a consortium established by Rosneft and Gazprombank.

Maxim Kochetkov told that in late February 2015, Rosneft provided the Ministry with a business plan, a financial model and a network schedule for construction of SC Zvezda. The schedule divided into three phases covers the period through 2024. Total financing is valued at RUB 145.5 bln including RUB 20 bln already invested into the project.

The official emphasized that the state would support the project through subsidizing the interest rates for loans raised by the consortium for the complex construction. Maxim Kochetkov estimates this volume at RUB 3 bln in 2016 – 2018.

The revised product range of the new shipyard will include platform supply vessels, hydrocarbons carriers including ships with high ice class, offshore and onshore oil and gas structures, drilling rigs.

The Ministry expects the new products manufactured by Zvezda to appear in late 2019.
