Zvezda to build 59 ships and marine facilities from 2016

According to preliminary data, Shipbuilding Comlex Zvezda plans to build 59 ships and marine facilities for RUB 2,473.0 bln starting from 2016, Maksim Kochetkov, Director of Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Facilities Department at RF Ministry of Industry and Trade, said at the strategic session “Shipbuilding: where to build ships” within the framework of the Eastern Econimic Forum in Vladivostok.

Maksim Kochetkov says Rosneft is to order 41 ships and 12 platforms for RUB 2,347.3 bln.

According to him, RF Ministry of Industry and Trade is permanently monitoring the demand of Russian oil companies in ships and maritime facilities. This data along with capacity of shipyards serve as a basis for the development of a oil and gas companies’ general demand schedule through 2030.

Shipbuilding comlex Zvezda is being created in Bolshoi Kamen within the framework of the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center (United Shipbuilding Corporation). When completed, the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex will be able to build tankers with a displacement of up to 350,000 t, LNG carriers of up to 250,000 cubic meters, ice class vessels, specialized vessels with a launch weight of up to 29,000 t, offshore platform units, and other types of ships.
