The Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city trial court found guilty and sentenced  the captain of Aurora-1 fishing boat to 3-year probation term. The captain was also fined, to pay out 120.000 rubles. He will not to be allowed for two years as a captain on mining, processing and transport ships, Russia or foreign vessels, the regional Prosecutor's Office statement said.
Maxwood International Ltd, a foreign firm and civil defendant in the trial court will recover 13.4 million rubles of ecology damages.

The captain was charged over poaching crab as he "in October 6-10 2009 illegally caught 62.377.92 kg of Kamchatka crab, 113.52 kg of blue crab, almost 7.500 kg of snow crab and other species”, the law enforcement agency said.
