An explosion comes off on October railway, no casualties reported

Today, February 2, 04:21 am (Moscow time) on Bronevaya – Ligovo trackside of St. Petersburg-Vitebsk branch of the October Railway (DZD, OR, the Baltic route), an unidentified explosive set off on a railway track under the wheels of a handcar. No casualties reported, but the handcar driver got his leg injured, RZD, Russian Railways said.

The DR authorities promptly established an operational committee, an authorized team has moved to the scene to investigate into details of the accident.

Commuter traffics from Baltic Station of St. Petersburg is temporarily halted. The trains to Gatchina go on schedule from the platform and the Airport and Vitebsk stations, the DR press office said.
