The Authority of Belorussian Railway (Belarusian Railway) has announced a 0.6 point cut for transit tariffs in 2010 charged for transporting oil products from Belorussian city Navapolatsk to Russian Vysotsky (Leningrad oblast), "Oil of Russia" reports citing a statement of the Belarus Ministry of Transport and Communications.

"The tariffs discount will allow Russia's LUKoil redirecting its oil transits, previously shipped via Latvian and Lithuanian ports, to Vysotsk", a representative of the BMTC was quoted as saying.

LUKOIL is one of the largest suppliers of oil to Naftan, Novopolotsk refinery. The oil supplies for its processing had amounted previously to 250-300.000 tons a month. After refining petroleum products at Belarusian refineries the Russian company was transshipping oil through Latvian ports.

Lukoil company exports petroleum products via its LUKOIL-2 oil terminal at the Port of Vysotsk (Leningrad oblast, Russia). In 2009, overall 13.9 million tons of petroleum products passed through the terminal.
 
Naftan Novopolotsk JSC (Belarus) refinery processes annually about 10.7-10.8 million tons of oil. The Naftan reported its processing depth in 2008 was over 72%.
