Rosmorport suggests extending the series of 25-MW, 21900М icebreakers and building new project vessels
FSUE Rosmorport has submitted a proposal on extension of the series of 25-MW icebreakers and icebreakers of Project 21900М, Vladimir Shtrambrand, head of Rosmorport’s department on fleet construction and repair, said at the International Conference “Advanced port fleet - the basis of safety” organized by media-group PortNews and held today, September 21, in Saint-Petersburg.
Besides, the Company suggests building 4 shallow-draught icebreakers of new project and an auxiliary icebreaker powered by gas and diesel fuel (13-14 MW). According to Rosmorport representative, shallow-draught icebreakers could operate at the ports of Vyborg and Vysotsk.
25-MW diesel-electric icebreaker is being built by Baltiysky Zavod, three icebreakers of Project 21900М – by Vyborg Shipyard.
