The Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport of the RF Ministry of Transport (RosMorRechFlot) announced that the data of Magadan seaport (MCSP) was listed in the Russian Register of Seaports (November 18 2009 N AD-235-p decree). The agency assigned the MCSP a serial registration number T-3, the Rosmorport’s Magadan branch statement said.

In accordance to a decree by the Ministry of Transport (April 1, 2009 N 51 "On approval of the Register of Russian Seaports") RosMorRechflot has been entrusted registering Russian seaports. The Register includes seaport location information, list of operators of marine terminals and its services, main technical characteristics of seaports and other information.

Port of Magadan is the largest round-year navigable seaport in the Russian North-East. The port’s icebreakers ensure navigation from November to May. Freight traffics via Magadan include largely fuel and other commodities for the needs of Magadan region.
