Throughput of Kaliningrad at 175.9 thousand tons in January, a double decrease

Cargo turnover through Kaliningrad Commercial Sea Port" (KCSP) amounted to 175.900 tons in January 2010, a twofold drop from the same period in 2009, the port authorities statement said.

In January figures ferrous metals shipment volumes dropped to 67.800 tons, 2.6 times down against January 2009, of coal and coke - in 3.4 times, to 14.700 tons, of petroleum products - to 53.200 tons, a 8.3% decrease. Containers turnover via the port fell 1.4 times, to 1.495 TEUs.

Kaliningrad Commercial Sea Port JSC is the regional operator of the port complex. The port is the intermodal hub for export and import traffics passing through the area. Commodities volumes here amounted to 2.186.100 tons in 2009.
