VCSP freezes its handling service fees, the last year level

Commercial seaport of Vladivostok (VCSP JSC) transships to Chukotka - Arctic Northern regions urgently needed commodities during winter navigation. The port authorities would not lift rates for the transshipment of goods for the "Northern delivery", the press service reports quoting Dmitry Domrachev, commercial manager of VCSP. Besides, the Authority said, the company would ensure favorable warehousing discounts for clients operating on the Northern route, for commodities storage at the port.

This year, the port authorities expect they will have the same volumes of freight traffics on Chukotka - Eastern Arctic route as it was in 2009. The Northern navigation period begins in the second half of March and ends in October.

Every year through the port of Vladivostok logistics companies transport under government contract to the northern territories of Russia’s Far East containers, fuel, machinery, building materials, consumer goods at amount of over 100.000 tons.

Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port one of the largest seaports in the Far East manages its portfolio of assets - 17 berths, including specialized ones for handling containers, automobiles and fro passengers ships. The port is owned by FESCO transport group. In 2009 volumes of shipments via VCSP increased by 4.9% over the previous year - up to 6.205.100 tons.
