FESCO icebreakers operate ensuring navigation in the Far Eastern basin

This year’s rough weather has troubled navigation in the Far Eastern basin. The ice floes covered the waters of the Tatar Strait and Sea of Okhotsk on the approaches to the port of Magadan. It also blocked the La Perouse Strait in the east, in the Anive Bay, on the approaches to the port of Prigorodnoye. That required the use of icebreakers for piloting vessels, the Far Eastern Shipping Company press service reports.

"Admiral Makarov" and "Krasin" ice breakers ensured a 130-mile navigation for “Yuri Senkevich” and “Captain Kostichev” tankers to the port of DeKastri.

Another icebreaker, “Magadan”, was operating on a 110-mile route in the North Sea of Okhotsk helping “Captain Sergievsky” and “Polaris” tankers to and from the port of Magadan.

The Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker that arrived February 3 at the port of Prigorodnoye for providing pilotage of large tankers and LPG carriers.
