Alushta ship in ablaze on Astrakhan dockyard, several injured Alushta motor ship has reportedly caught fire on the Red Kuznitsa (Forge) shipyard in Astrakhan region. Firefighters and emergency teams were dispatched to the scene, supported by the disaster medicine Center. The fire was rated a higher level, News29 reports. As of now three victims have been reported suffering different-degrees burns. The people have been taken to hospitals. The firefighter experts are trying to establish what might cause the accident.
Noteworthy, this turns to be the second fire accident that has occurred at the plant in the recent year and a half, The first one came in June 2008 when to-be-scrapped Zerno-Grad ship caught fire. No was hurt then.
The Alushta ship is a sea cruiser operating on a scheduled line carrying passengers to the Solovetsky Islands. The vessel was to be renovated at the dockyard.
