Freight traffics via seaports of Ukraine in January 2010 increased by 4.9% as compared with the same period in the past year, up to 8.175.000 tons, the Ministry of Transport of Ukraine statistics bulletin said.

Ukraine’s railroads have also had a 14.8 growth in commodities volumes, up to 29.860.000 tons, the report said.

In 2009 the commercial seaports of Ukraine showed a year-over-year 17 percent decline in freight traffic, down to 109.716 million tons from 2008.
