Oil pollution in Temryuk, some 53 gallons of heavy fuel oil leaked

The oil spill incident occurred at the port of Temryuk (Krasnodar Region) yesterday during a bunkering operation with Russia-flagged "Unicom Alpha". Heavy fuel oil, 200 litters (52.83 gallons), was released from the ship’s tank onto the ice at the harbor, the regional Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage (RosPrirodNadzor) reported.

Emergency teams began its operation at the port right away. Temryuk Department of FSSNR in the South District is conducting inquiry into the oil spill incident.
