Russia to submit The Baltic Sea Preserve Program in May 2010 - Vladimir Putin

Russia has prepared a program for environmental sanitation and preserve of the Baltic Sea region. The program is to be presented in May this year, the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said today, speaking at the "Baltic Sea Action Summit-2010", PRIME-TASS reported.

"Russia has worked out the concept of such a document, and in May at the ministerial session of the Helsinki Commission in Moscow, we intend to present our federal program for environmental restoration of the Baltic Sea", Mr. Putin was quoted as saying.

Vladimir Putin called on all members of the HELCOM, Helsinki Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission to boost the development of such programs. Russian Prime Minster reminded that Russia is constantly taking measures to minimize hazardous environmental impact.
