Dalian Port throughput up 21.7 percent to 25.85 million tonnes in January

Dalian Port's monthly throughput has shot up 21.7 percent year-on-year to a record 25.85 million tonnes in January, China Knowledge Press reported.
Dalian Port handled more cargo last month in part because the Huanghai Sea and the Bohai Sea were frozen, leaving Dalian to pick up the extra cargo.
Container throughput was 423,000 TEUs, up nine percent year-on-year. Foreign-trade container throughput increased 4.4 percent, rising again after a one-year fall. Foreign-trade cargo throughput jumped 28 percent year-on-year to 9.92 million tonnes.
