WYO completes 16-ship project for Nibulon

Wadan Yards Okean Shipyard JSC in Nikolaev of Ukraine launched February 12, 2010 two river-sea going barges built under a contract for Nibulon Ltd, an agricultural enterprise. The two ships were part of the 16-barges contract signed March 6th last year. Eight other ships are scheduled to be launched soon adding by April this year to Nibulon’s 24-vessel fleet.

The Nubulon’s General Director Alexei Vadatursky noted his company had planned an ambitious project to build up its fleet, Nibulon press office said.

An earlier report said the Nibulon’s $150-m investment project includes construction of 7 grain elevators and river terminals of a total warehousing capacity of about 300.000 tons, 24 108.000-dwt river-sea going barges and 14 river-sea going tugs.

Wadan Yards Okean (former Damen Shipyards Okean) specializes in manufacturing and repairing container ships, tankers, tugs, barges of up to 350.000-dwt.
