Ministry of Transport to submit bill to the Federal Assembly this year, to boost shipping and shipbuilding

Russian Ministry of Transport team, with participation of several federal executive authorities and the businesses, has completed the first project phase of a new federal law "On measures supporting the shipping and shipbuilding industry”, PortNews IAA reports quoting Deputy Transport Minister of Russia Viktor Olersky.

"We do not rule out that we will offer changes in the Merchant Marine Code, in the Tax and Customs Code", PortNews quoted Victor Olersky as saying.

The Ministry of Transport has initiated a process of preliminary approval of the bill with other ministries. "We will try hard to convince our colleagues in other departments to have the proposed amendments approved to boost the development of shipping and shipbuilding. If we succeed, then in 2010 the government will introduce the bill in the Federal Assembly ", explained Victor Olersky.
