Southern Customs expects a twofold rise in volumes via Novorossiysk postIn 2010, Customs post at the port of Novorossiysk expects volumes of commodities for declaration twice as much over the previous year’s figures, Rossiyskaya Gazeta (Russia’s Newspaper) reports quoting Maj. Gen. Alexander Getman, the head of the Southern Customs Directorate (SCD).
"To cope with the problems that may emerge in this situation, in particular to regulate the customs clearance procedure, registration of submitted cargo customs declarations (CCD) we decided to increase electronic submissions,” Mr. Getman was quoted as saying.
The system include touch monitors, printers for serial number of a client, info boards, etc. The "I-based customs control" has already been used in some customs offices and turned to be effective", Alexander Getman said.
Overall, since late 2004 the South Customs Directorate offices have executed over 22.000 electronic submissions of customs clearance declaration, including last year’s 8.500.
