Latvia hopes China transit container traffic resume this year

This year Latvian Association of Logistics Ltd. (Logistikas Partneri) expects to see again container trains from China via Russian railroads since the Russian rail transit tariffs has become more favorable for Latvia said the company’s co-owner Kalvis Vitolins, The Baltic Course reports.

However, Mr. Vitolins notes, the local Customs, Food and Veterinary services should be improved before the transits resume, adding new supply chain solutions needed, such as multimodal shipment of China commodities.
