Rail traffic by TransGarant up 24%, at 1.9 million tons

The volumes of commodities carried by TransGarant group, in January 2010 totaled 1.9 million tons, 23.9% up over the same period last year, the company statement said.
Transgarant, by its own and leased rolling stock transported 942.000 tons of coal, a 28 percent gain from January 2009, 523.000 tons of iron ore (+28%) and 98.000 tons of metals (+10%), 59.000 of tons of industrial goods, a 89% jump, 39.000 tons of gravel, a twofold rebound, 31.000 tons of paper (+21%). The volume of container traffic increased by 3.6 times and amounted to 8.700 TEUs.
