Danang, Vietnam based Song Thu Corporation's Song Thu Shipyard on November 9, 2015, held the ceremonial launching of Damen TSHD 2000 Severnaya Dvina being built for Russian client FSUE Rosmorport, Rosmorport said in a press release.
The launching ceremony on 9 November was attended by the Consul-General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang Andrey Brovarets, FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko, representatives from RMRS, Damen and from Damen's business cooperation Song Thu Corporation shipyard.
The vessel has been named Severnaya Dvina after the river in the European part of Russia which flows into the Dvina Bay of the White Sea near Arkhangelsk and Severodvisk. Following delivery, the 2,000 m³ Severnaya Dvina will maintain navigational depths and provide safe shipping in the Arkhangelsk Seaport basin and approaches.
FSUE “Rosmorport” awarded the contract to Damen Shipyards Gorinchem following an open tender in 2013.
The Severnaya Dvina can operate under the temperatures ranging from -35°C to +40°C.
