Yury Trutnev orders to simplify obtaining of Free Port of Vladivostok resident's status

Obtaining of the Free Port Resident status will be the key issue at the next meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Free Port of Vladivostok, press center of Primorsk Territory Government cites Yury Trutnev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, as saying following the meeting held on November 19’ 2015.

Yury Trutnev said the Supervisory Board will hold the meeting when sufficient number of companies applies for the Resident status. The meeting is preliminary scheduled for late December 2015 – early January 2016.

“I am not satisfied with current work on granting the Resident status. A direct corridor should be established for applicants,” Yury Trutnev said.

Applications should be considered within 15 days. According to Yury Trutnev, it is important to find out what prevents the companies apply for the Free Port Resident status.  

The Supervisory Board is the governing board of the Free Port of Vladivostok. The document on establishment of the Supervisory Board of the Free Port of Vladivostok was approved by RF Government’s Decree on September 4, 2015. According to the Decree, the Supervisory Board is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District. The Supervisory Board includes the heads and deputy heads of the related federal authorities, heads of municipalities with the free port status, heads of Far East Development Corporation, representatives of regional trade unions and employers' associations. The first resident of Free Port of Vladivostok – Pacific Investment Company – was announced at the Board’s first meeting was held on October 21, 2015.

The Supervisory Board is intended to coordinate the activity of national and municipal authorities and address funDamental issues related to the operation of the Free Port of Vladivostok.

Federal Law on the Free Port of Vladivostok came into effect on October 12, 2015. The free port legislation will be applicable for 15 municipalities of the Primorsk Territory including their water areas. Total area of the free zone is 28,400 square kilometers with population of 1.4 mln people.
