Freight turnover in VCSP at 1.186 million tons in Jan.-Feb., nearly twofold rise

Cargo volumes shipped via Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (VCSP) in January-February 2010 grew by 91% as compared with the last year’s two months, up to 1.186.400 tons. Of overall handled volumes exports reached 802.3 thousand tons, imports – 160.2 thousand tons, cabotage - 223.9 thousand tons, the VCSP press office said citing the production director Sergei Lopunov

In the reporting period the port transshipped 44.40 TEUs of containerized cargo, including exports – 164.94 TEUs, imports – 12.401 TEUs and cabotage – 15.145 TEUs.

Just in February 2010, VCSP handled 598.9 thousand tons of cargo, exported goods amounted to 395.500 tons, imports - to 96.700 tons, cabotage – 106.700 tons

In February, the port’s container terminal handled 22.958 TEUs of containerized goods, 8.575 TEUs of exported commodities and 7.36 TEUs of imported cargo, cabotage – 7.347 TEUs.

Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port OJSC maintains and operates its portfolio of assets in Vladivostok - one of the largest seaports in the Far East of Russia. VCSP has 17 berths, including several specialized - container, passenger and automobile. VCSP OJSC is part of FESCO Transport Group. In 2009 freight traffic via VCSP’s terminals totaled 6.205.100 tons, a 4.9% rise over the previous year.
