Expert Council of Rosmorrechflot’s Board has given general approval of specifications for designing of the Bagayevsky hydrosystem, IAA PortNews correspondent reports from the meeting. Specifications can be adjusted in late March-early April 2016. First phase of designing works is to begin in June 2016 with the construction to be commenced in the third quarter of 2017 and completed in 2020.
RF Transport Ministry hopes for inclusion of the project into the Federal Targeted Programme “Development of Russia’s Transport System”.
The Strategy for the Development of Inland Water Transport of the Russian Federation for the period till 2030 was approved by the Order of RF Government dated February 29, 2016 (No 327-r). The Strategy sets forth a package of measures focused on changing the state of inland water transport and on efficient development of the industry. It is to be implemented in two phases: Phase I – till 2020, Phase II – 2021–2030.
Bagayevsky low head hydrosystem is needed due to extremely low water level at the Lower Don. It is to be put into operation in 2019-20. The construction is preliminary valued at RUB 22 bln including RUB 600 mln in 2016; 800 mln in 2017; 7 bln 187.3 mln in 2018; 524.8 mln in 2019 and 12 bln 887.9 mln in 2020.
