GlavGosEkspertiza approves construction of dry bulk cargo terminal at port Taman
GlavGosEkspertiza (Russia’s General Board of State Expert Review) says the documentation and the findings of the engineering survey on the construction of a dry bulk cargo terminal at the seaport of Taman have obtained state expert approval.
“Implementation of the new investment project on reconstruction and expansion of the Taman port not only implies the development of the port itself but is also focused on facing large scale challenges in Russian economy,” the statement says.
GlavGosEkspertiza says Black Sea ports of Russia play the key role in container and dry cargo traffic towards the Azov-Black Sea area.
According to the conservative scenario of Russia’s port infrastructure development strategy till 2030, the demand for port facilities in the Azov-Black Sea Basin will grow to 151.2 per year. As of today, large volumes of Russian coal and ore is exported by railways and via the ports of other countries.
The new investment project will let ensure the required environment for expansion of transport and logistic capacity of the region and redirect cargo flows to the Taman port.
