NovoKuibyshev Refinery, Kuibyshev Refinery and Syzran Refinery of Rosneft’s Samara group of refineries have commenced shipments of oil products by water transport in the navigation season of 2016. Rosneft says the bulk of oil products from Samara group refineries and Saratov Refinery will be carried by vessels operated by Rosnefteflot JSC and Rosneft’s own fleet (including vessels of Prime Shipping acquired in 2015).
Shipments from Saratov Refinery commenced on April 1.
Throughout the years Rosneft has been the prime cargo owner providing the highest volumes of cargo for transportation by water. River transport is the most efficient one. Every year, over 4 mln t of light and dark oil products, including bunker, are shipped by rivers from Rosneft’s refineries. The fleet of Rosneft involved in transportation of the Company’s products numbers more than 140 river tankers and barges.
The navigation season of 2016 in the Samara and Saratov regions is expected to last till the end of November 2016.
