Cruise navigation season opened in Murmansk with the call of Silver Explorer on June 13, 2016, says the press center of Murmansk Region Government.
The ship of 108 meters in length, 16 meters in breadth and 7 meters in draught is flying the flag of the Bahama Islands. She is operated by Silversea Cruises specializing in premium class cruises by medium size cruise ships sailing all over the world.
Silver Explorer has ice class 1A and can accommodate up to 132 passengers in 66 cabins. Having left Murmansk the ship will sail along the coast of the Kola Bay.
On June 16 nuclear-powered icebreaker 50 Let Pobedy of FSUE Atomflot will leave the port of Murmansk for this year’s first cruise to the North Pole. The voyage operated by Quark Expeditions will last till June 28.
