This August, Douglas-Westwood will be launching the NEW World FLNG Market Forecast with analysis through to 2022. The Company says analysis is underway, showing mixed results for those in the industry. Early indications are that after the pioneering projects of PFLNG - SATU, Caribbean FLNG and the Prelude FLNG, further capital expenditure will be curtailed. This is due to low LNG spot-prices as a result of over-supply and budget cutbacks following the oil price downturn. As a result a number of large-scale projects which were expected to become operational over the forecast period have slipped beyond 2022. Greater attention has now shifted towards FSRUs (Floating Storage Regasification Units), which remain a strong and stable market, serving as a low-cost alternative to meeting the ever increasing need for import capacity.
Areas of focus include:
Market Drivers and Trends
FLNG Supply Chain
FLNG Import and Export Capacity
