The flag of the Russian Federation has been raised today, 14 July 2016, onboard the TSHD Severnaya Dvina built to the order of FSUE Rosmorport, says the company. During the flag hoisting ceremony Rosmorport and Damen Shipyards Group signed the acceptance/delivery certificate.

The event was attended by Executive Director of FSUE Rosmorport Andrei Lavrishchev, Arkhangelsk Region officials, representatives of Damen Shipyards Group, etc.

Andrei Lavrishchev emphasized that the new ship is capable of operation in severe climate of the northern region to ensure depth required for safe navigation at the seaport of Arkhangelsk and at other Arctic ports.

Vadim Krivov, Transport Minister of the Arkhangelsk Region said: “Commissioning of the Severnaya Dvina dredger will open a new page in the records of Rosmorport’s Arkhangelsk branch. It is a significant contribution of the company into the development of the Northern Sea Route and the Arctic zone”.

The dredger bears the name of the river in the northern part of European Russia flowing into the Dvina Bay of the White Sea near Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk.

FSUE Rosmorport is going to use the dredger for maintaining the specified depths in the water area and at the approaches to the seaport of Arkhangelsk.

Damen tailored the TSHD 2000 design to meet the high specifications required to operate the vessels in the severe weather conditions with air temperatures ranging from -35°C to +40°C.

The dredger built at Danang, Vietnam based Song Thu Corporation's Song Thu Shipyard was laid down in November 2014 and launched in November 2015. Setting-up and adjustment of the vessel’s dredging equipment as well as water tests were completed by May 2016.

TSHD Severnaya Dvina arrived at the seaport of Arkhangelsk on July 1, 2016.

Vessel’s key specifications:

 Length overall – 80.35 m;
 Beam – 16.2 m;
 Dredging draft – 5.1 m;
 Trailing dredging depth – 22 m;
