Petrozavodsk, Karelia based Onezhsky Shipbuilding Ship Repair Yard on August 5, 2016 completed sea trials of “Krutoyar”, an ice-class buoy tender, built under contract 06/06/2015 № 472 /DO-15 (Project 02780M, Hull No 52), the shipbuilding company said.
The acceptance / delivery commission has verified operating condition of onboard equipment, overall performance, operation of automation, navigation and communication equipment.
"Once minor deficiencies (detected by the commission) are corrected the vessel will be handed over to the North-West Basin Branch of FSUE" Rosmorport", the report said.
The ice-class vessel was launched on April 27, 2016.
The Krutoyar is the first in a series of two buoy tenders of Project 02780M constructed at Onezhsky Shipyard for the FSUE Rosmorport.
The serial ship is intended for maintenance of navigational aids (ATON) to ensure safety of shipping in the waters of the country's seaports.
Onezhsky Shipbuilding, Ship Repair Yard was founded in 2002 on the basis of shiprepair facilities of the Belomorsky-Onezhsky Shipping Company, formed in 1944. In 2011, after the enterprise management dismissal the production stopped, and the company went bankrupt. In late 2014 the enterprise was transferred to the state ownership and it was decided to resume production.
